So, I recently bought a 1989 Accord LX, Manual transmission and have been trying to work out some kinks. It's my daily driver and I work 7 days a week so trying to diagnose as many symptoms as possible through driving before taking a day or two to try and solve everything! I have my main issue narrowed down to an issue with the dashpot and plan to follow the service manual's dashpot test tomorrow. However, having had a quick look, I realise that to access the dashpot to perform the test, I'm going to have to remove the air filter. Is it safe to run with car with the air filter removed in order to test the dashpot?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Perfectly fine to run it with out the air cleaner while your working on it.

Just dont drop anything down the throat of the carb by mistake!
