Hey Guys,

I am having what i consider a major problem with my 89 LX. It seems like my engine... well let me explain what happens and maybe someone can help me out.

When I drive my car, it hesitates... like someone has shut off the gas pump completely. If I let go of the gas, it's like it was turned back on again. If I hold the gas pedal steady (as if you're cruising at a steady speed), then I'm ok. But if I try so accelerate, then that's when it "bucks". It's annoying and embarassing, so I hope you guys have a solution for me.

Thanks in advance,

Peace.

check your accelerator pump and check the booster venturies.

look here to see what the venturies look like

and go here to see how to remove the aircleaner and how to remove the vacuum lines so you can run your car and do a few test and adjustments.

with the air cleaner off you can see the venturies pretty clearly and if you look on the right side of the carb you can see the spring for the accelerator pump.

also check for vacuum leaks while the air cleaner is off.
