I am selling my 1986 Honda Accord LXi hatchback I purchased new in 1986. Car has been well cared for over the years but it's time has come. I am posting here first to see if there are any Honda Accord people who would be interested. It has 211,400 miles. Reason for selling is the automatic transmission has failed but it will make it up on a flat bed truck on its own. It can be restored if in the right hands but has some significant rust as it has been through 29 Illinois winters though it has been garaged when not on the road. Great engine, interior in decent shape. Tires and battery are fairly recent additions. Located in Macomb, IL. Clear title and documentation history provided. This will be a cash only sale of $450 (price firm) and you will need to provide your own transport to pick up the car. Photos available upon request as well as questions here or at [email protected].

So, it would make it onto a flatbed... but probably not (on own power) to Pittsburgh? (It would be for parts, if it were somehow to get here.)

I have two 3G Accords now - one bought in 2011, from CO, the other last year from CA, when I stumbled upon it on this forum while looking for advice on rust repair for the first one. So I really can't justify buying yours. I just can't help asking, though.

I understand fully. If it were to make it to Pittsburgh (PA?), I probably would still be driving it! The problem with the auto transmission is getting into gears, grinding; especially when cold. It has been going out for awhile and what finally did it in was a grind that changed with speed. I was driving it last week when this latest issue cropped up. I had no problem driving it home but had no highway speeds to reach, just took it easy. I will keep the post up till the car is gone.
