Decided to start a build thread for my 1989 Sedan. Car has 242,XXX miles and counting. I am using the car as my daily for commuting to and from work. When I got the car, I was shocked someone could be driving it, the entire suspension system was thrashed. Had horrible Honda bounce as it was dumped on e-Bay coilovers and blown OEM struts. I had traded my last CB Accord for it plus cash, so I had very little in the car, about $800 to start. So far I have replaced a good amount of the suspension. New struts (Monroe OE), new springs (Suspension Techniques), new front upper control arms and ball joints, with new bushings and seals, new rear lower strut mount bushings, new upper strut mount bushings in the front, new lower front ball joints, and new tie rods and ends. Need to get tires still and have alignment done, but most of the suspension is better now. I have also replaced the choke assembly, installed a Stinger battery, and done the oil and coolant. She is getting 30+ mpg so far and runs like a top.

I am currently trying to decide which road to take with this vehicle. Every car I have ever had ends up being a never ending project, and how far should I go with this one. My dilemma resides in the number of projects I have at the moment. I have an R6 drag bike going back together for the season, as well as an '09 Camry, and a '75 F100 project with a 460 bbf and a c6 . So what to do with the Accord? I fall more in love with this car every time I drive it. I've had many Hondas from Civics to Preludes, and this just reminds me of my first lude. What should I do? Opinions? I'm thinking canyon toy. I think it would be great for the Colorado mountains with a little extra kick and some full coilovers. Im just unsure 😩

Can't advise you on direction, but the car looks good. Thanks for saving it.

Looks great man! Id say canyon carver is a good idea. They handle pretty well for the year.

Love the project mate. I like having a lot of cars too, I have an '88 2D, '89 4D SE-I, and my newest, an '86 hatch. I have a 3Gee problem :D Plus an '87 Camaro, a Buick, and an '85 C10 truck. I believe in a 5 car min per person xD

I'd recommend what I'm doing: I'm keeping my '86 hatch as an "no **** given" car. I'll swap engines, parts, experiment on it, strip it, drag it, track it, etc. That leaves my '88 for my daily driver which stays somewhat stock. Keep your Corolla etc for that and have some killer fun in your 4D 3G. Some people don't like 4 doors, but some people don't know they have some of the lowest curb weight with 3Gs...

Last but not least I bought that 4D beat up '89 to steal the nicer fuel injected engine and some interior + rear disk brakes. All for under $1,000. It was a present to myself :P after I scrap it (it's beat...seriously...), I'll be back to a somewhat manageable 5 cars :D Cheers mate.

I do, but I take the bike most times. I used to take my 5G Mirage until it got totaled. I may bring the 3G out this year until the bike is completed. Are you in Colorado as well?

LOL, Not sure how I feel about the panels, they were that way when I acquired the car. Some sort of bandana material

I am in Colorado. I'm thinking I will start taking my Accord out to the meets this summer.
