basic upgrades for 87 lx-i

I have a 1987 Lx-i its all stock with an A20. Is there any basic upgrades that I am able to do that would give me more power without blowing up the engine.
Everything that I find for this car is for having a carb and mine does not have a carb it is FI.

Upgraded cam, mild usually is best for a daily driver. Full Exhaust including header. Make sure the car runs great with good fuel filters, sparkplugs, wires, distributor cap.

My favorite "performance" item is upgrading the suspension because there's no need for a fast accelerating car when you don't have to slow down for the turns.
