Wire ?

Theres a wire thats starts from the valve cover gromet to the engine frame

what is its function (ground wire ????)

mine is broken at the engine frame

definately ground wire and needs to be replaced

When I paited my valve cover I forgot to put mine back on and drove for about 2 months without but when I noticed I put it back on.It never did any harm but I put it back on just incass.

Well its a secondary ground to guarantee that the engine and wiring harnesses are grounded to the rest of the car. Its pretty important, who knows if you have a good connection to ground, and its function is pretty important for stuff like starters and ignition circuits, if its not there or somthing it could cause all kinds of problems.

well on my car ! when i forgot to put it one after a timing belt job ! the car didn't start ! i think my primary wire is gone !
does anybody know where the primary ground is ?

The primary ground on my car goes to the transmission case. That makes sense since it's right next ot the starter, which draws more current than just about anything in the car.
