Hey guys! New here and wanted to introduce my GF's 1979 Accord! She always wanted a first gen accord and I was finally able to find one a few months ago with a bad engine but it was a one owner. I decided to take on a huge undertaking with the A20 swap out of a 88 accord but I wanted her to have fuel injection and more than 2 speeds haha:) I went into the swap blind and it was a ton of customizing and work but it was so worth it! So quick and so much more reliable! I then took it and restored it cosmetically for her! She's beyond excited and she loves it! Figured I'd show it to everyone and for anyone that has thought of this swap message me and I'd be more than happy to give all of the knowledge I now have from the swap!

Wow, sorry I missed out on seeing this earlier!
VERY interesting conversion, & probably well worth the effort to be rid of the Hondamatic for a capable automatic.
Heard engine mounts similar to ease the conversion though wondered about driveshaft options.
Bought an injected A20 & 5-speed a few years ago, only because it was cheap, though more tempted by the idea of a B18A or B for my '79.
Maybe I should reconsider for ease of conversion, though finding the rest of the parts to make the A20 work might be difficult now with their rarity.

Nice work! I know how much you have to mix and match parts, I put a B20A into my 82 a few years back. That car is clean!

Fuckin A! That looks great. Nice work on the swap.

How did you clear the exhaust in the front? Did you cut up the crossmember? A20 transmission as well, I assume? And how did you build your axles?

Hey, you're in Washington? I'm up in Seattle. Where abouts are you? I'd love to see your car some time! Mine is almost back from paint. :)
