LX-i = top of the line for '88
to learn about cars, just sit back and read a lot, soak up the info..., get some hands on experience, and use the search function before asking questions. if you don't, some people on here will get after you, lol

wow man, way to make the noob feel welcome. all im gonna say is WELCOME bigric, its always nice when a guy comes on here looking for help, admitting he doesnt know much and genuinely interested in learning, rather than dicks like 86accord (NOOB ALERT)... anyways, you got an awesome model with the LX-i, definitely the best for '88 (Fuel Injection over Carb which any model beneath the LX-i came with) Anyways, i echo rares sentiment, the search button works magic..........

if your asking about build quality and durability, 88 is prolly your year. Any year is fine, but 88-89 are prolly your best bets. The japanese built hondas have better build quality but the american built ones hold up better because they rust less.

Definitely...LX-i's are the best! :D Except for 89, then it would have to be the beloved SE-i ( ) LOL. Nah, any 3g will give exceptional build quality and reliability, along with many many miles of smiles (and I ain't talking no 150k, I'm talking more like 400-500k!)

Anyways, welcome to the board  . Don't mind all the drama going on around here right now, it's a constant cycle that comes and goes.

ah good old Nate...

naw i specifically said "sorry to dis you..." i'm not trying to take over anyone's 'big time asshole' position because i by no means know it all. i was just trying to say that they way he formed the question was hard to understand. maybe if he would have said
"is the LX-I the top of the line model for the 88's" or soemthing like that...

again bigric... i'm sorry if i offended you. i meant no harm by my wording... welcome newbie.

to phophet and nate... chill out! it's not like i flamed the guy

truce??

you're saying "ooh poor newbie" forgettting that I too am a newbie. maybe i'm not a retard. Maybe i just didn't understand his wording...

Why the hell am i making a big deal about this anyway? i'm sure he wasn't hurt by what i said or he would have complained himself. i don't care if you like me nate, and i'm not about to start some lameass message board feud. i came here to learn about my 3g and that's that...

First of all, welcome to the board. Secondly, the first response to his question was totally uncalled for, and fits perfectly into what I have been saying about showing common courtesy to new members. Instead of jumping on them, telling them to "get a life", etc., we should be answering their questions, or guiding them to where they can go to get help. No question is dumb or stupid, except for those that are never asked. I am getting sick and tired of the childish and adolescent "how can you be so stupid?" attitude that has wound it's way through the site lately. For those of you who insist on acting in this manner, I am sure that there are pre-pubescent websites out there who can cater to your stupidity.

i agree 100% bobs89. i don't want to look like some pussy but i admit that i was wrong. i was having a bad week and i took it out on the guy.

thanks for the support Jims. i'm glad to see that you could see where i was coming from. i promise to all that i won't act like that again, for what it's worth

this board is by far the BEST accord-related out there and i don't want to fuck it up with some nonesence...

on to the real topic, micah i'm with ya on that one bro. i was kind of apprehensive about the "big 80's sedan" coming from a Chevette. but as soon as i got in her i loved it. she rides so smooth, the engine says it's gont 220km's on it but you'd never know... starts right up even in -30. the handelling i'd have to disagree with you a bit. maybe i'm biased cuz i drove a car with a much smaller wheelbase (and 2 fewer doors) but the sway is quite noticable at higher speeds. I suppose an aftermarket sway bar would take care of that tho. but congrats on your ride.

i will be getting another one when the current one's tranny goes (which sounds like soon) :(

Honda's have always been more advanced for their year. If you don't believe me go sit an 1986 Toyota Camry, then sit in a 1986 Honda Accord.

TRANS AM and CAMARO's were nice... well in the 70's and the 1987 Trans Am GTA was nice... but not many other DOMESTIC's were nice... well Mustangs are nice...
