These are a couple of my brother's cars.
The first is a 2001 Lexus IS300 lowered with H&R Springs on 19s.

The second is a 2002 Avalanche on 20s. He just bought the Avalanche last month and had the 20s for it within the same month. I tried to talk him into 22's but he tows his boat with it and takes it up to the mountains to go snowboarding so he wanted to keep it practical.
He is an autobody painter so pretty soon the plastic cladding on the Avalanche will be painted body color.

The Avalanche isn't my favorite vehicle either but he bought it strictly for the practicality of it. He refused to buy an SUV but he still needed the capacity to carry five people up to the mountains plus all their gear whether it is downhill mountain bikes or snowboards. Nobody in our family had a vehicle that could carry more than four people so somebody had to buy one. Even my Cadillac is strictly a four person car.
The IS300 is definitely fun to drive. It isn't terribly fast (I am used to the Caddy) but it handles great.
He also has a 1991 FourRunner and a 1995 MR2 (non-turbo).

Those are definately 20's. The reason they don't look like it is b/c now in society we are so used to 22's, 23's, and 24's, that 20's look like 18 or 19's on trucks like that. It's gettin outta control with these fuckin rims. I like 22's but any bigger is just rediculous. I've seen 26 INCH RIMS. REDICULOUS. i'm sure some of you guys have seen them too; on the lexus suv. What's next? 30's? 33's?? It's gotta stop!
just my 2cents,

Chris

I totally agree. 20s are the biggest that should go on cars (and only if they lower it too) and 22s are the biggest that look good on trucks/SUVs. I am tired of seeing 4x4s rolling around on big wheels. The only way big wheels look good is if the vehicle is lowered enough to fill the wheelswells.

i totally agree that i am tired of 4X4s on big wheels. off-road plus no sidewall = not cool. As soon as i saw one of those Avalanches i said all the Plastic was a bad idea and then i saw one on the road with a peice missing and it made the whole thing look like shit. they have since gotten rid of it and the newest ones are all metal. good thing too. i'm not into Avalanches, but it looks ok. and your caddilac is only a 4 person car? or did you make it only a 4 person car?

The new Avalanches come with all of the plastic cladding painted. There is a special edition coming out that has no cladding but that will be the rare one.
My Cadillac is an STS which is the sports model. It has four very deep buckets and it makes it very uncomfortable to carry five people but very comfortable for four people.

the lexus is sweet. but i don't like the way the wheel well goes to flat, and then back on the truck, and the way the gas tank filler spot thing (whatever the hell its called) goes down into the plastic.

Pearldrop, does your brother work on any of your cars?

Yeah, he's an autobody painter. We painted my Accord and my first Civic. The Accord still cost me almost $4000 by the time I was done with bodywork and buying the paint.
He occasionally helps me fix things if something happens to my cars but I take all of my custom work to a different shop now. It is kind of stressful to ask somebody to help you that much. We spent three full weekends painting my Accord. If you think about it, that is four weeks straight that he worked without a day off.
But I do appreciate all the help he has given me.
BTW: He is 35 years old.
