My back seat does not fold down, or i'm a stupid ass that cannot figure it out. If I am right it does not fold down, and I am not a stupid Piece of shit, is there a mod I can do to make it fold down? because I really want to be able to install my subs easier.:wtf:

it doesn't fold down in the coupes ( i know for a fact) and probably no the hatches. i think it may also not fold down on the DX which is probably your problem.

than it must be DXs. because it doesn't fold down in my girlfriend's DX coupe. that pretty much answers that question.

DX's don't do that guys. Only the higher models do. I have a DX, and it doesn't, my mom has an LX, and it does.

all hb's fold DX or LX-i, but only LX-i coupes fold, not the DX coupes. I found that out the hard way on my DX coupe and I can say that I was mighty unhappy to find out that little bit of info..:rant:

My dad took the interior out of my LX and put it in his DX when my car got written off. He installed the folding backseat too. He had to drill a hole to mount it but all the places for everything like the key lock were there. I can ask him in more detail on what he did because I wasnt watching him. I was pulling off all the new shit we put on My limited while he was installing it.

ok, i know that it folds down in my LX sedan and other people's LXs. In my girlfriend's DX coupe, it doesn't fold down. i assume it folds down in all other sedans exept for the DX. that is what i'm sure of so i will stop there.

Its been tried........you have to do some serious work to get em attached. i would also suggesst doing something behind the seats so theres not like....car....behind the seats...like fabric or something.

yeah, i tried it... the fuel tank is in the way... it's VERY close(less than 1/8/ of an inch in places) to the body... that means you can't tap from up top... i learned the hard way because i thought there was gonna be more than that between my car and the gas tank... it's got a small hole now...

it's possible if you take the tank out, drill, then weld in studs for the back of the seat brackets, and weld on some threads for the front...

another thing you may want to do is get seats that sit REALLY low to the bottom of the car... take them off of the rails if need-be... and make sure they are smaller than the stock accord front seats... they are too big to fit properly in the rear... they fit, but they look way out of place

hope that helped there...

and the folding seat thing... go to the 'yard and pull the parts you need for it... you will need a new seatback because the one that folds has a frame, and the one in the DX only has one welded vertical support cross-member that will need to be cut out if you install the LX+ seatback

hope that helped all of you out, goodday

My LX sedan folded, and so does my lxi coupe, although the key doesn't work when trying to fold it down.

all the accords had the option of having folding seats it was a dealer option on some and standard on others. it was one of those unknown options. like power mirrors on a dx, you could get them but you had to ask. and pay $$$$$$$$

i would think so, but it would have to be a manual mirror.

Tim Yoak

why not get a cpuple of power mirrors and a switch from the junkyard, they are very easy to install. all you need are the mirrors and a short section of wire with the plug attached then you need the plug from the switch with enough wire for the connections. there are only three wires from each mirror i believe. then you have a power lead and a ground to the switch. there are no relays or anything like that pm me and i'll look up the color codes and what each wire is for if you decide to install. it takes some very minor modificcations to make them fit the doors. these are 89 lxi mirrors on my dx. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid43/p477927938996c5fcceb7950e2e32a0cd/fce67bf7.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid46/pb10d40e5fb357fad89462b3e357faf0e/fcd05ea5.jpg the blank is already in the dash the switch is designed to fit in it.

Tim posted about that a long while ago. If memory serves me right, he made the switch out of the three-switch combo that is on the right of the steering wheel. He had to mold some stuff together to make it fit.

I dunno anything about other model's back seats but my LXi has a lock above the seats that you turn with your key and i think that unlocks/locks the seats. check if you have that.

bringing back old threads is better than starting new ones.
