Howdy y'all! Figured I'd come introduce myself over here. Names Benjamin, but everybody tends to call me Sparky or a variation thereof (spark, sparks). I'm a shade-tree mechanic and enjoy tinkering. Pretty much love older cars. Just something cool about older stuff in general. Over the years some of my favorite vehicles I've owned was a '72 Ford F100 Sport Custom, two different '74 Super Beetle's, and who knows how many Honda CT90's. So, wrenching a car isn't a scary thing, just goes with having an old car. And hey, it's half the fun.

In particular, I picked up an '83 Accord LX hatchback. It's in great shape, been decently maintained. Needs a few minor things, of course, but nothing I can't handle. Things like the there is a rattle/squeak when rolling the drivers window up and down as well as a rattle when it's down. Clutch pedal probably needs adjustment at the cable, feels a bit squishy from what most manuals do. Looks like a slight oil leak at the oil cap, a/c needs a refill, and some light body damage. The passenger out side door handle won't open without using the key turned towards the front of the car, and the drivers door doesn't lock form the inside (it does lock with the key though). Doesn't blow smoke of any color, and other than smelling like an older car, it seems just fine.

Reposting some pics from my other thread. I'll add more in the morning when I start to really tinker with it.

Here are some more pics as promised. I did forget to mention that this car came with 3 keys. Looks like two copies and the original.

You can see the damage I talked about. It doesn't seem to have affected anything other than that missing light/reflector. All lights work with no issues whatsoever.

Just a few interior shots. This thing is in excellent condition! The leather isn't ripped or torn in bad shape in any form!

Some engine pics. NOt sure what to say other than I don't see an oil dipstick and it's appears to be leaking oil from the cap.

Kinda cool. The car came with some extras. A carburetor and fuse box +wiring and whatever is attached to it, as well as an airfilter, lid to the air filter holder, distributor cap, some wires, and a hub cap piece.
