89 Accord DX manual, carb. I was under the hood today and noticed that one of the hoses on the vacuum advance diaphragm had broken off. I don't know how long it has been like this. I need to either replace or adjust the throttle cable to get the car running again. Extremely limited budget and won't be able to get a new vacuum advance right away so can I run the car with that busted line or will it do more damage? Is there a way I can rig it up? I'm pretty new at all this and learning as I go. Thanks.

The picture attached doesn't show it well but the little nozzle thing that the hose slips over on the diaphragm is broken off and missing.

You'll probably notice some rough idling. Not much else really. It is a vacuum leak, which you don't want. Ideally you should fix it but if funds are super tight, ignore it.

Will it cause damage if left unfixed?

Probably not if you drive sensibly.
