hey, i have an 87 honda accord with stock 13" tires on it. my friend wants to sell me some 16" volk racing rims with 40mm tires. i want to buy them but i was wondering if i can go that big. if it will mess up my drive-train.differential?

we have lots of members with 16 and 17 and even some 18" wheels... if the tires are 205/45/16... they will work... just bolt the rims on and drive over alot of bumps... if it doesnt rub, you got yourself some wheels!

DXHATCHBACK is absolutley correct. But are the rims being sold with tire's on them? If so what size? BTW, 205/45-16 is a perfect plus size, it is the same height as you oem 13's. So your gearing and speedo will not be effect AT ALL;)

Their a little undersize, but they'll fit just fine. If it was me when they wear out it's replace them with 205/45-16's. If the deal is right, buy all means get the rims and tires.

you dont have to drive over a bunch of bumps to see if it rubs, thats just plain stoopid. the best way to test fit a wheel is crank the wheel hard one way then the other and see if you have any rubbing and enough clearance at the top.

i think he's talking about allowing for the suspension travel too nanaimo. they may not rub in your driveway but depending on the condition of his springs the rims could rub the fenders.
