311k and no smoke whatsoever, at anytime :D . I do have a very small leak out the rear crank seal, so I usually go through about 1-1.5 quarts in 5000 miles (Mobil1 synthetic). Still not bad at all for the mileage....

Amazing.

Throw Synthetic at any other car with that many miles, and it'll leak like a water barrel after a shotgun blast! :lol

Doesn't burn oil at all! I'm using Mobil 1 Synthetic and change every 5k miles and stays the same after 5K. Engine has 272k miles. Great engines!

i use regular 10w-30 and honda filters, I only have 114k miles but even with small valve cover leaks it uses less than 1/4 qt in 3000 miles... Pretty damn good. Ive seen lesser honda engines (F22, B18C5) use lots of oil with the same mileage. Of my friends, one has a honda odyssy (or however its spelled) and it goes through 2-3 qts per 1000 miles, and another friend who has the same problem with an 3rd gen Integra. Another friend has 250k on his 91 accord wagon ex and he uses about as much oil as I do... strange.

That is strange....for awile, my moms '94 Accord EX (F22) back when it was around 150k miles or so (now @ around 173k) used quite a bit of oil. Nothing extreme or anything, but still way more than normal. It wasn't burning it (alot at least...no blue smoke of any kind), and wasn't leaking, it was just disappearing  . Then all of a sudden the problem just stopped on it's own, and now it doesn't go through any oil at all. Strange! I was thinking it was a PCV problem or something along those lines....still don't know for sure though, lol

Gotta love the ol' A20! Without a doubt one of the best engines Honda has ever made to date, IMO (as far as reliability, durability, etc) :super:

my 4g does not eat any oil. Its just 155K miles and u wont see a spill of oil in the bay, NJ meet, u guys would look at how spankin it is. The last time i changed my 4g oil, i had about 3.75 quarts of oil in the car, considering i put just 4 quarts in it. My car does not smoke, but on cold days, the condensation when u start it up is just insane.

i still go through maybe a quart between oil changes, and that's after changing the guide seals. what it hurts to admit is that the smoke i get when i start it is white, not blue. it must be a tiny hole that seals up when it gets hot because it doesn't smoke at all once it's warmed up. i have tried all kinds or coolant stop leaks but none seem to work. i dread the day that gasket finally goes.

my girlfriend's 88 goes through around a quart and a half between changes because her pan is messed up around the drain plug area. i switched to one of the nylon gaskets and that my mom's 98 accord uses and that helped a lot. it used to smoke like wild from under the hood and leave puddles which we thought was the valve cover gasket so we changed it and that didn't help. it turned out to be a leaking power steering pressure hose which i just changed on sunday. that was a bitch.

Pretty amazing stuff.

That is, go to this (http://209.151.81.66/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12339) thread and see that 50% of owners have about 200,000 or more miles on their Accord!

Mine started smoking about 6 months back. Pretty sure it's the valve guides,, but this yet another reason i'm getting a new engine by the end of the summer

I smoke! but not oil or anything else! Camels are the only way to go!

Oh......you're talking about does your CAR smoke. Well, even after my oil pump kicked the bucket, it didnt smoke. Of course, my car didnt really run either, but it didnt smoke! heh heh Unless i do something wrong, after i get my new motor, my car will be ready to roll for another 100k. (i torture my car so i'm not giving it a lot of miles after i rebuild it........) I love my car, but i also love the sound of my motor revving out......... :super:

the only reason my car smokes is because my valve cover gasket is junked. before that started it barely lost any oil. still doesn't, even with the gasket problem. gotta love those hondas.

257,000 AND STILL GOING STRONG! Shedoes leak oil though, but gaskets usually die quicker than the engine, so that's normal.

Sorry to change subjects, but does synthetic oil leak through a gasket more easily than normal oil? I recently did an oil change with mobil 1 synthetic and i have notice oil dripping down from the valve cover gasket onto the headers. Is it because i used synthetic?

134,000 miles, mobil 1 10w30, no smoke, and no leaks.

my mom's with 212,000 had a valve cover leak which i fixed. no other leaks. it puts out a little white smoke on cold mornings just while it's warming up. doesn't even do that in warm weather (90% of the time down here)

Heh. When I first read this thread. I was like...hmm...what do they mean cigarettes or weed? lol. But then I started reading. And back to subject, no never have...then again, I only have 86k miles on it. Heh. Oil change every 3 months, never later.
