Easiest swap = another A20A.. performance gain perhaps 0-1%

If you want power, you need cash. This is no picnic on the beach. Best swap is a b-series... Some will say JDM b20 some will say b16a. Look to spend between 1500-2000 for the parts.

if i go b16a how much time is involved also how much performance can i expect hp wise?

also with the b16a do i need cable or hydro??

b16a will take a while... The mounts, axles, and cables will probably run you around $800 (blind guess) and the engine itself I've seen for $1100 complete. This is the first gen b16a so it's cable clutch. If you do the swap yourself, expect long downtime. If you get a shop to do it, expect to spend over $1000 for labour.

It's a good engine... it is what I'm planning on installing.

Well damn i dont like major downtime or payin an additional 1,000 dollars because i only have my 89 for a ride anyway what kinda power will i be gettin?

B16 isnt as easy of a swap as is the JDM B20. They both offer 160 hp, but the JDM b20 has slightly more tq. However there is a great deal more aftermarket support for the b16 meaning you can do more things to it for performance easier and cheaper in most cases than with the b20.
Also keep in mind that for a similar difficulty swap as the b16 you could spend more money and buy something like a b18c which would give you 170 or more horses depending on the engine.

All things to consider.

Also, you might want to check out Accord EX's site he compiled for honda engines, its a great resource:

putting in the b20 is a cake wake and you can use your stock ecu and harness from your car I did the hole b20 swap with a header cat back new cluch and tranny for $1200 if you no what to look for but the parts for the b20 are a little harder to get but can be found

B20 turbo would be insane, prolly way better than either H22a all motor or B16. Turbo A20 is nice too because the block and closed deck design make for a nice turbo motor

thats what I am working on. Still trying to get all the parts together before i start tearing in to it.

how difficult would it be to install a b20 turbo? also how hard would it be to install the turbo a20? also horsepower figures please?

I am not sure about the A20a but I bought my turbo kit as a bolt on kit. Tim Coleman from ludespeed modifies the downpie to fit. I also have a Tial watsgate, hks ssbov, intercooler and a few other add ons. Hoping for big power

:) you got a turbo kit for the b20a jdm or did you get a b20a5 lude kit and if you did how much did it cost you I just got my b20a in my car and it has nice power but with a turbo it would run like a raped ape:smokin:

One of the swaps above is in the pics section. The other person didn't say he did the swap, he got all those turbo stuff from the canadian blue accord.
At least that's what I remember.

I just have my stuff. I am not ready to install everything yet. I am still colecting p[arts for everything. Looking into the hks camp system, anyone know about it personally? I bought most of my stuff from the blue accord. He gave me a screaming deal. 1200 for motor with 5 speed tranny, jdm ecu, harness and everything else. The turbo kit was 1600 with modified parts ready to bolt on. A few hundred mor efor the HKS ssbov and the tial watsegate. I bought a spearco intercooler of ebay but looking for a bigger one. I need to find engine managment controls, boost controller, timing adjuster thing and all the gauges and stuff. I am looking at the mallary hyfire VI. Any suggestions
