Hi everybody, I've got an 88 accord lx 5spd with a bad head gasket. It has 280000 miles on it and since I pulled the head I am gonna have it rebuilt. The machine shop asked that I remove all accessories and plumbing which I have done. Except for the coolant pipe that goes into the side of the head which is kicking my tail. Any tips? I'm not sure how its fastened in there but I have hesitated putting a torch to it because its an aluminum head. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Crisis averted. FYI its threaded in and took a large pipe wrench and a bench vise

Nice work figuring it out, I had no idea it was threaded. When I had my head rebuilt I left that pipe in there and they had no problem (at least, they didn't say anything about it)
