Out of these 3 ( Y1, S1 & J1 ) which one would be the best buy for racing. Just curious!

Juan gave a warning about the LSD version the Y1 i think (not all come LSD) but he said it wasnt great for highway driving cause of the close gear ratios. He was planning to go back to the S1 cause the gear ratios were not as close. I may have switched these around but if your only racing the LSD Y1 would be good but not practical for daily driver. Sorry im too lazy to go looking for the thread to verify tranny codes.

Ty Guys! I am kinda looking for something in between! Get a lil out of both w0rlds!! I found a B17, but the synchros on 3rd & 4th gear are wasted!

Man! i'm glad you try to remember most of my posts! :D However, i think one of your brain cells bursted :D
Nah, but fo real.... you got most of it right. Here's what i think.

The Y1 is cool because some of them come with LSD. The downside to them is the gearing, example: when i hit about 80 mph in 5th gear my RPM's are about 2700 on the Y1.
on the S1 the same 5th @ 80 mph will have the RPM's at about 4000 witch is a much better advantage for racing purposes.
(This diffrence applies to every gear, not just 5th)

Remeber, those are just examples of the gearing diffrences of each other. The S1 is much spicier faster, sort of feels like if you had an aftermarket flywheel, your motor spins alot faster and quicker. It also helps you get into the vtec range alot faster.
The Y1 just boggs you down :( with the only benefit of the LSD. But if gas is a concern, the Y1 is a perfect choice.
