Love driving the 85, fast, sips gas, has 140,000 miles on it, Wants me to kick it to the curb and buy something vintage American , says these will never have collector value , Sure it will never bring Nova, Torino or GTO value on the resale market but I can honestly say it's much rarer than any of those and does turn heads

No need to argue with her, simply find a car in the same condition as the one you have and see what they're asking for it. Rusted out hulks of vintage America go for multiples of what you paid for yours. Yeah, they sell for more, but that's because they are giant money pits before you get them to that level. Then point at that you cannot drive a car you expect to appreciate. She can hate on your car, but it's hard to argue with math.

Not an expert, but a gto or similar muscle car would probably start at 30-40k for something reasonable , then throw that at it again to make it nice .
Could build a mega accord and have change for an nsx or a couple r32 gtr skylines for that .
I like muscle cars , but not enough to spend minimum 50 k on one

Buy a nice 91 NSX. It WILL appreciate. Be prepared to spend 40K or more. That'll show her.

Oooo. That's a good idea. If you find a way to drop a V10 into it, it will appreciate immediately!
