Hey dudes. My altenator is totally shot. I had it tested, and it puts out no electricity whatsoever. Could it possibly be just the voltage regulator? Or should I not waste my money on trying a new v regulator?

even if it was the VR..when u see the cost of that bit, you'll go for the junkyard replacemetn alternator. the only time I'd deal with that is swapping internals from an alternator with a bad mount that i had laying around..I would check the wiring/fuses if the alternator was not tested outside the car.

If you have a Kragen's nearby, I'd suggest you get one from there. I got mine for under $120 brand new with lifetime warranty.

I just had a re-conditioned alternator put into my car and I think it's starting to die again. I bought it at autozone so it's comes with a lifetime warranty.
