Painfull Misssssss

My 89 carbed with an intake, misses incredibly bad. When i start it up, i must rev it to lke 3 or 4 for it to stop shaking and then let it go back down to like 1500 for the choke and to warm up. If not, it'll make popin and backfire sounding noise. My dad said even when its warm. it still misses. can about help?

are all your wires tight? how old are your cap and rotor?

are you sure the choke is functioning properly? They tend to stick...

What kind of intake did you put on? what vacuum lines did you remove plug or reroute?

the rotor and cap and plugs and plug wires all have less then 3000 miles on them. I made my own intake out of the port injected top that comes on the 91 crx. I left the one on the far riight disconected and the one that comes out of the back disconnected. I put one air bleed inside the intake and ran a vaccum hose to it. so.... If the choke is sticking or whatever, how do i fix it?

Go out an get Oxygen sensor safe carb cleaner!!!! to fix that sticky choke! It works wonders...
