hey

Ive had this problem for a little while but I never did anything about it. The problem is this: the front wipers won't stay on. I have to push the switch towards the dash in order for them to work. The rear wiper seems to work ok all the time. It s really annoying becuase it means that i cant have both hands on the wheel when i am driving.

Is there anything i can do besides replace the whole assembly? it seems to me like there is a spring that is worn out or there is a bad connection somewhere.

Any suggestions? Help is always appreciated! :)

Thanks in advance.

There was one time that my wiper stalk went all floppy on me (sounds like something you need Viagra for!). I took apart the combo switch and found that a little plastic cap on a spring had come apart. I glued it back together with epoxy and rigged a small piece of metal in the spring and it has been working fine ever since. That was over six years ago.

This means you may be able to fix the combo switch by taking it apart. If they are cheap enough at a wrecking yard it might be easier just to replace it, though.
