e-brake light help

Ok so i need some help with the e-brake light.

The e-brake is fully functional, but the light has a mind of its own. Turns on and off whenever it feels like it.

I will say that if the light is off and I use the brake it will turn on, but it rarely turns off when I lower the handle.

It turns off, and on while on the freeway, hills, and foot brake usage.

Thoughts?

There's a little button under the center console plastic that when the brake levers down it compresses the button
