you cant lose with Alpine or Pioneer decks, IMO they are the best for the money.

I'd have to agree with AccordEpicenter... though it doesn't really matter what deck you get as far as sound quality goes, just get the one with the features you want.

However, stay far far away from Aiwa, I have heard nothing but complaints about them.

and i don't recommend kenwood. i don't like my kenwood deck now cuz its not working right. so i'm gonna get an alpine mp3 player. people have told me bad things about kenwood too.

i HIGHLY recommend kenwood! I've had nothing but good times and good tunes with it, doesn't skip at all, nothing ever goes wrong with it. Higher volt pre-outs would be nice but im not complaining.

for $179CAN (w/warrenty) its the best investment i've made in a long time. My bud's got an aiwa and its junk.

I'd get Panasonic, most are more silver, but they make black decks. And I can get them at cost. They sell for under $200!

Low end Clarions suck, but the expensive ones are nice. Certain model Kenwoods and JVCs tend to break (like the EL Kameleon) and AIWA sucks hands down. Eclipse and Nakamichi are also nice, and I dont know anything about Panasonic.

clarion's suck? the white powder under your nose is building up again man......u must be sniffing something! clarion=quality/performance in features, appearance, and sound my friend, DXZ825 i would recommend but it's out of your price range even on ebay, they do have lower models within that price range tho, but if your looking for all the features (i.e.- manual eq, mp3, cd-r/w, blah blah) then u gotta go higher end, lemme tell u after turning up the mids and highs on my cd player my sound is crystal clear and great, some tracks i can't play becuz it damn near pierces my ears, but don't listen to that guy pro audio (clarion) rox man, pure competition........

origninal2k, I was referring to clarions low end decks... I like their higher priced decks, theyre pretty nice but the cheaper ones arent very good. And Wallyyfm... Alpines maybe ugly but they sound better and are better built than any Aiwa.

i have a pioneer deh-7400p i blv, neway, its a great head, cept it takes a while from one mp3 to the next. btw it couldn't match any better with my interior lights. At night, everything is blue/green or bluegreen, and so is the oel display.

another thing, aiwa for the money is very very good. 87dxhatch, i dunno what you heard, but i used to have a aiwa head in my corolla and my friend has a aiwa head in his subaru. They both have never disappointed us.

JVC KD-SH-707!!! or the 909

(that is if you want the reliability)

wallyyfm

i don't think i'm that ugly
alpines are ugly

I agree with Microstreak and 87accordlxph

the KD-SH707 is the best, the SH99, the predecessor is better than the 909. I myself have had an Aiwa CDC-MP3 version 1, not the ugly ass motorized version out now. I've had this thing for 3 years and have been thoroughly impressed. It doesn't do a couple things like resume MP3 files like the JVC's, but it's always worked and its outlived 2 cars and in my Buick now, it controls 4 component speakers and 2 rockford 12's with a rockford amp and its never disappointed me

hey man, how did you mount your deck in your buick? ive been lookin around for some kind of mounting kit for my "tank" as well.

wallyyfm

u got a buick

u da man

I'm on my 2nd lesabre, totaled a 93, on a 94

well i took your basic GM package from walmart and mutated it, making my own adjustments to fit the buick with plastic compound. Looks real professional. And it's recessed, so it doesn't stickout like a damn tape ejecting from your dash.
