Do 3rd gen carb models even have a check engine light? I've owned 3 of them and none of them had a light in the dash

Nope. Some of the 88+ preludes had a pgm-carb light if I recall correctly, but not the Accord.

On the carb ones, sort of a quasi ecu thing. All it does is control emissions functions.
Like in my case being Weber swapped, it does nothing.
