View Full Version : Bearing cap analysis anyone?

Sorry for all the threads. managed to get a piston out of the engine with the block still in car, would like an analysis as to if bearing wear on lower piston rod cap is normal or not. havent looked at the other half or the main bearings yet. Crank journal seemed smooth after piston removal and engine didn't have any issues other than an oil leak before disassembly.

Piston. dont know why the pics came out sideways though i edited them and turned straight. smdh.. curious about the scuffing

the rod bearing looks pretty decent but the Piston got stuff pretty good on the one part. It's kind of hard to tell from the pictures you know how does the cylinder look

Not too bad i would replace pistons,rings and hone it

Hone all 4 cylinders and sling new pistons, bearings and rings and call it a day.

Both will work i use the 3 blade one
