OK, this is what I did yesterday - took me til now to post them due to going to a party last night after :D

Yes, the rear strut bar does help. I took the on ramp from I-20 to I-285 at 70mph today. Before, even with the suspension I got, it would start to get squirrley at 65mph; back end felt like it was leaning out too much. Now it was solid, responsive, and didn't lean as bad. Definite upgrade if you can.

Yes, the frying pan is always back there. Never know when you will need one ;)

Thanks to:

Eric2615 for the DC header
87Hybrid for the polished valve cover (contact for doing yours)
88turboaccord for the rear strut bar (contact for possible buying)

Looks fucken sweet, how'd you do that with your valve cover and how much it cost you?

I have to clean up under my hood to, replace the battery, clean it and paint it.

Sweet!! I love that valve cover! And the headers and strut bar look real good too :)

Noticable difference with the headers?

Looks sweet man:) But I was wondering how your gonna prevent the aluminum from oxidizing and turning grey? Was it clear coated with high temp clear?

Jezz, my DC Sports headers are stuck in canada, cause ups says the weather's to bad to move anything.:rolleyes: Least that's what the info say's from the tracking number.

Nice work on the valve cover, header, and the strut bars. I was wondering what type of added performance you get with the frying pan in the trunk. :D

What kind of strut bar is that and where can I get one? Looks good.

Come on Bob, I know that you can figure that out yourself !!

You simply take the circumference of the frying pan and mulitply by Pi. This value is measured in FTU's. (Frying Thermal Units) Multipy this value by 1.1115 which will give you the value in BTU's/hr. Just convert BTU's/hr to horsepower and there you have it. Any rookie should have known this.

Here's the formula

(C)(PI)=(FTU)

(FTU)(1.1115)=BTU/hr

1 BTU/hour = 0.000393 horsepower

Lets see. a 12" frying pan would have:

C=18.849
PI=3.14
(18.849)(3.14)=59.185 FTU's
(59.185)(1.115)=65.991 BTU's/hr

(65.991)(.000393)=.025 horsepower !!

Not much horsepower at all. If I were you, I would ditch the frying pan and just get a NOS sticker. It is cheaper and gets you at least 20 hp at the wheels.

(yes, I was so bored that I actually figured the math. I made up the FTU part before someone gets their panties in a bunch.)

Thanks for the compliments :D

Contact 87Hybrid for the polished valve cover. He does metal polishing for a living I guess. Jim: I don't know if it was coated, or something. Guess I'll find out ;)

Contact 88turboaccord for the rear strut bar. He takes ones from other cars and modifies the brackets to fit. The work on them was great.

Jim: I'd say the mid-top end is great. It is solider in the acceleration. I detect no loss in the bottom end, as such as it is. These mods are not exactlty for this engine either. I got the SEi engine going in with a mild street cam sometime in the future. This one has 300k mi. on it. Time for something a little younger :p

Yeah, the frying pan adds power. Strap it to the header, put some eggs in it, and scramble them; instant yellow! You know what yellow does.... :cool:

I use "Heavy Metal" polish in my final shine to remove any paterns that he wheel has left on the finish, It is an oil based product that inpregnates the metal and fights corosion. You will have to treat it ocasionally but not constantly. The valve cover I has on my stock civic I had on there for 4 years and never has a corosion or anodising problem with it.

I do not acually do it for a living, more as a service. The amount of time that i put into these i would only be making about $3.00 an hour but it is fun to get the high shine worked out on them. My acual jub is a material handler at the Freightliner Truck Manufacturing Plant in Portland OR.

With the amount of work needed to even try and get close to the job 87hybrid can do, it makes more sense to pay him the $50 he charges to make you one. $50 is dirt for what he has to do to get those cover looking like that.
