Here are some pictures of the race car still in progress. As of today, the rear is complete with Earl's SS brake lines, EBC Green Stuff pads, SEi disks, Suspension Techniques lowered springs, and and SEi swab bar. Since we have a small budget for this contest and rear struts cost $$, I fit on a second set of Bilstein Jeep shocks! The back feels so nice, no bounce and smooth transitions!

On the front, we've gone with the SEi sway bar with poly bushings, LXi brakes, same springs and brake lines and pads as the rear, and KYB AGX adjustable shocks (from an '88 CRX). It's sitting high in the front because the engine's out, and the CRX shocks are about 3/4 inch longer. That's good for rallying, though! I'll get pics of the front after I get the knuckles swapped out from the new parts car.

Rally racing by what he said, awsome little Accord, I was thinking of puting steel brake lines, where did you buy them?

I bought the brake lines from OMP. However, it looks like they're generic 20" hoses with banjo and regular fittings. The key piece is a "Honda Adapter" that lets the regular fitting mate to the rigid brake line. I'll try to get the part numbers off the packages this weekend.
On the rear, I removed all of the brake line interconnects on the trailing arm and ran the SS line directly from the rigid line to the caliper. This allows me to route the line away from moving suspension pieces, and it makes it easier to change if anything gets damaged.
This accord is initially being set up for an autocross, drag race, and concours competition in April. Thus, we have a very tight suspension and lots of spray paint! After that contest is over, we're going to strip and seam weld the chassis, put in a cage and other safety equipment, engineer another 10 inches of suspension travel, etc. We'll probably put in a B18 at some point, but we want to make it to at least one SCCA rally in 2003, so we'll see how time and budget holds out!

Brian, why did you pick the Accord for this?

We needed a cheap car for the GRM competition and I've always wanted to mess around with a Honda, but Integras and Civics are still too expensive. Actually, I sold a '90 Integra to fund the project. A friend let the white one go for $250 with a leaking head gasket.

For the GRM competition, you can either spend $2000 for a good car and run it as is, or spend most of the money on parts for a crappy car. I'm a sucker for a challenge, so we chose option 2.

Once we got it apart, there are some key features that are nice in a rally car. First, the fluid lines and electrics are all in the cabin, which is an SCCA requirement. Second, the pieces are all easy to remove and reinstall. Thirdly, we can put a large variety of motors in it, and still stay under the 2.0 Liter displacement rule for Group 2. Lastly, if we put it in a ditch we can pick up another chassis for real cheap and move the good parts over!
