Is anyone using the Sylvania Silverstars drop in replacement lights ?? They are supposed to be 4000 k temperature, just 500 short of HID.

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

first of all, they suck big ass. yes they give you a lot of white light but they still suck.
second of all, HID burns above 5000K (i think around 6000-7000K). so being 500 deg short is not even close.
don't waist your money on this bulbs. buy something better something like this http://store.yahoo.com/racinglab/raywhitsonh4.html
i have this bulbs in my car. and they are the britest i have owned so far, and i went through about 5 pair of diff bulbs last year.
don't buy PIAA bulbs no matter what. they have 2 color tones. low beam is 5000K and high beam is 4500K.

The Silverstars burn at 4000K. If you want light output, get them. If you want to look like rice blue (which the cops pull you over for / gives tickets for as of late in Atlanta), get the APC/etc bulbs. If you want true HID, get the Sylania sealed beam conversion - yes, true HID for an Accord, and it's legal, for $500.

yeah i never tried the silverstars, but i think i might rather have those cuz they are white, instead of blue, i mean i like blue too, but all the blue one's i've ever had blew up, so anything's better to me if doesn't have a color on it

Thanks all. I might give the Silverstars a shot as I am looking for improved lighting, not rice look, as I drive in the mountains where visibility is not over-rated (no need to be running into deer!!).
