I was driving along like any other day, when i noticed my clutch, though pressed to the floor quit completely releasing the clutch during shifting into first gear. Thought to adjust the cable slightly to correct the issue and it did for the next 20 mins. Then it went back to not fully releasing the clutch when pressing the clutch pedal. I messed around and left work only to not have any use out of the clutch pedal and having to rev match gears to make it the hour drive home. I had similar issues before, which turned out to be a bad pressure plate so I figured, meh, I'll buy a kit and replace it all as easy as that is. Just 2 hours or less anyways, right?

Skip a weeks time and I got an Exedy clutch kit in the mail from RockAuto (http://www.rockauto.com). https://i.imgur.com/PIyf6a1.jpg Replaced the Clutch, PP, TOB etc to find a piece of my TOB return spring broke off one of the ears. https://i.imgur.com/T0eOBnD.jpg Ordered that(BTW for future reference, Some B-series and most D-series engines with cable clutches use the exact same spring, P/N and all)https://i.imgur.com/s15608w.jpg and had it within a weeks time. Installed it and hopped in to go for a test drive. LKJSDNLSLJDH!!! Same problem, only with new parts in this time.:madflip: Should have corrected it, so i thought. Did some digging and noticed my cable stay bracket under the dash is broken:banghead:. Looks like a clean break at 2 welds.

Not for sure if I'll just weld it back considering it's already broken once, or make a plate to attach to the firewall out of something thicker than the stock joke they used that I'm pretty sure is 1/16" mild steel...Anyone have any recommendations? So far I've removed the bolts holding the fuse box under the dash and made way to get to it, sorta. When I try to push or pull it back into place it doesn't seem like either the broken piece or other piece want to even budge in any direction to mate back together to weld. At this point, I believe that a DIY plate would be better to mount to the firewall for the clutch cable. I feel if I did weld it, as thin as the metal material is stock that over time it'll probably break somewhere else for whatever reason. All I know is it's been 3 weeks this thing has been down and I need it back up and running asap. Much preffered ride over wifes '15 Maxima.

Hit up a junkyard for a new pedal assembly is what I would do.

Me and a close friend decided to attempt to weld this thing, while it was still in the car. Everything went flawlessly, besides the part we used a flux core mig welding machine, and apparently even at its hottest setting, it wasn't making enough heat to properly penetrate and fuse the 2 pieces together. Gonna have to stick weld it, or weld it with a real MIG welding machine. It'll hold together for now, hopefully for long enough for me to get to dads shop, to weld it correctly. The 20 mile drive there with a whole new clutch kit will be the real test. I have faith it'll make it...i hope...Didn't take any progress pics though. Didn't get a chance to as of yet.
