Difference between 88 and 86 accord LXi hatch?

Does anyone know if there is a difference between front ends of an 88 and 86 accord lxi hatch. i am looking at a set of clear corner lights for my 86 and they are listed as only fitting an 88 or 89 hatch, there arent any differences that i am aware of but i want a second opinion before a spend 100$ on a set of original stanley clear corners. Thanks!

The front ends are different but I can't say for sure whether the corners swap (or could be made to swap). If you're serious, you might want to spend a morning in the junkyard seeing what it would take to make it work.

Within all 4 production years parts are interchangable and will fit but the 86-87 are styled different than the 88-89.

^ what he said, styling is different and maybe something to do with the reflective parts in the lens itself.
Size and shape are the same however.
