I just picked up my second B20A from www.openloopmotorsports.com from Darryl and i asked if he can get others and he can get them with 5spds. He also said he can get more if his supply runs out but from Japan as long as people want them. Please dont email me asking to buy my spare B20A or spare 5spd tranny (people already have) because i bought it for a reason. Im gonna be running a turbo so i wanted to make sure i have a spare Block and especially spare tranny because i would be screwed without it if something happened. So for the people that talk about wanting a B20A put the money up and just buy one.

I dont know what they want for a whole set up i think $950 for pick up but i worked out a deal with them for mine since i only needed it for parts. If im not mistaken he may have bought all the ones his supplier had so if you want one soon they are the ones to call otherwise you will have to wait to get them in from Japan. SpiTuning can get them but i dont think he is gonna get anymore unless you leave a deposit and wait a month for it to come in by boat.

I've got two questions about the openloops B20 swap.

First: How do you get it to pass CA emissions?

Second: What is the difference between the gold and black valve cover B20As?

The gold is the 86/87 style with single stage intake manifold with no EGR while the black is the 88/89 style with dual stage intake with EGR. It would be ideal to drop the simular style into your car to make hooking stuff up easier but it's not that big of a deal since you can just swap the intake manifold from the old A20 if you can't get the right one.
