you can find one occasionally on ebay but they tend to go for way too much. I think its time to ditch the factory decks.

dude those cd players were MADE by ALPINE!!!! Most of the HU and parts for the factory honda players made in the 80s and 90s was alpine and pioneer with a few other brands making stuff. IF you dont believe me just get a busted honda deck and look at the printing on the chips on the boards. As for the cd part itself its an option, probably more rare than foglights.

Yes there was. I've only ever seen them in sei's where the center console goes.

If you want to know how it looks like I can send you a crappy pic.

That cd player was also used in the 4th gen Accords. I have the stock cd player in my 4th gen that's how I know. I also have the sock eq laying around somewhere too.

that is a rare option, but i would still buy a new head unit (Pioneer Premier) and keep that one in a box somewhere or something

.......damn i forgot about this thread....oh well why do u want to fix an old ass cd deck??? u know what the wattage is on the channels? and the max db? it probably sux, yeah take it out, mount it on your wall, bolt it to a plaque, have it chrome dipped i dunno, but please buy a newer, better cd player, that's just me but if your into restoring your car to look like it just came off the assembly line, then get it fixed, in the end it's your decision anyway

I had the stock cd-player out of an 88 or 89 LXi coupe. (almost exactly the same as what was in the 87-89 acura legend). I put it in an 86 accord.... but I sold it with the car, because that particular unit (with the door that says "power loading") is no longer repairable, they don't make parts for them any more. Mine would skip, and would eject cd's without playing them. If you have an 88 or 89 lxi or sei with a cd player, and you want to keep it stock or mostly stock for some reason, you can use the cd player from a 90-93 accord dx or lx, or a 90-91 ex. and if you want something else, you can use the 90-93 accord cd changer controler (which should mount where the original cd player did) and put in a honda or alpine cd changer. Or you could put in a head unit and cd-player from a 94-97 accord. One thing to note, is that the 86 and 87 accords don't have dimming dashlights going to the head unit, it's either healights on, or head lights off, because the dimmer was built into the headunit. This doesn't cause any problems. You can use just about any 86-97 head unit you want, except for the 93 accord SE bose system... and maybe some others.

if you want to keep a stock look but havesomething REALLY nice, look into nakamichi cd players....they have a single-DIN, 6disc indash changer/player that I REALLY want to get.... but all of their cd players, as much as I can tell, look completely stock....REAL nice too!
