Correct Hub (Part Number) For 1982 Accord LX?

Thought I'd dive in and get acquainted with the front end a bit.
Had quite a roaring noise when driving.
Pulled both the front knuckles (passenger side was seized on the axle spindle pretty good. Had to use puller.).
Bought hub/bearing kits from CarID.
The site said they'd fit, but the machine shop was unable to get the new hubs to press in. Said they were the wrong size.


Here is what I bought, but there are like 12 to choose from on the site.

Some on the site do not have any Product Options (One size fits all?), others show "1982 Accord" and Product Options of "Up to chassis xyz".

My chassis number (VIN?) does not even remotely resemble these numbers. I'm taking the chassis number right off where the manual says to check for it...

Does anyone know where I can pull a chassis number? Anyone have the right part number to use for hub replacement?

Well, the machine shop could be incompetent, so check the fit yourself. If they sort of half-way slide in, then get real tight, that's what you want. Anything else should be pretty obviously wrong. With really old cars, sometimes the part numbers get garbled. I've received inside grease seals when I requested outside, because the catalog was wrong. I simply asked for the inside seal and got the outside instead. Worked great. You can call the parts store and give them the exact measurements you need if you have a dial calipers. If not, you can take the part down to the store and ask them to match it up. You can also cut the machine shop out of the equation and seat the bearings yourself. The old bearing makes a great driver for the new one. Just use a 4# sledge hammer and work carefully around the outside of the bearing to drive it slowly into place. Drive the old bearing out with a pin punch.

Just a heads up, the front hubs on an 82' Accord are press-in/press-out so I couldn't really do much without the machine shop.
