Well, its about damn time Honda. The new USDM Accord rear end has to be the ugliest thing I have seen in a long time. It looks like my fathers Oldsmobile. (or a Buick)

Unfortunately yes, the Mazda 6 is like...hella sexy and a beast of a performer. Honda needs this car to reestablish its superiority.

the mazda 6 doesn't outperform the new accord ex v6 coupe with 6 speed manual. 240 horse power. thats why the accord made it to the car and driver 10 best again. did our accords make it to 10 best?

Looks like Nissan is running around with it's head chopped off and Honda is finally kicking-in the monitors and rediscovering the pen.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you. It looks nothing like the Mazda 6, and I have no doubt it has more in the way of performance. I can say this: Honda has finally gotten out of the design rut they have been in for a few years. It is to the point now where it is difficult to discern the Camry from the Accord.

It may LOOK like a Mazda 6. However, looks do not a car make. I know a guy who LOOKS like Micheal Jordan, but I am quite sure that Jordan could kick his butt in a game of one on one. Comparing Honda with Mazda is akin to camparing apples and oranges. There are no comparisons. In both performance and reliability, Honda is a better car.

i wasnt saying mazda is a better car... i was just pointing out that they are almost identical!

HONDA is a much better car!

the rear end of it is a little more rsx than mazda 6. and im not a fan of the center mounted exaust outlets. but other than that it's a beutiful car. i heard that it would be coming to the us as an acura before. i wonder what the sticker will be.

Looks like that will be an Acura TSX FPP (Factory Performance Package). They're coming out with the FPP for the RSX, also. Anyway, big deal, it may have similar characteristics of a Mazda 6 or whatever. Has anyone ever noticed that even our 3geez have a few common design cues with say, the old Mazda 626, or the camry? And I know someone has had to seen the resemblence between the hatchback and a Toyota Corolla (AE86).

I can wait.
That car has NOT gotten any good reviews from the european car mags. They think it's to bland, same thing I think about the 7th gen accord. We can only hope it's tuned much different than it is in europe, just like acura tuned the TL to be much better than the accord.

A was at a acura dealer yesterday (drove another CL 6sp) and I asked about the TSX, it'll be here in april. It will have 200hp and 166ft-lbs.

We will not get the look of that concept car and I highly doubt you would get that front end in one of their performance packages. Most likely you'll get 18's, front air dam, side skirts, rear valiance, and springs and struts when you buy the performance package, set you back $4500+.

Here's a site with pics of what the TSX will look like.

I agree with those who say that there are similarities between the 3G Accord and other cars of that era. I believe it comes down to what is popular for the time. At the time of the 3G Accord, flip-up headlights were the big thing, as were accessories such as louvers. Now it is HIDs, aerodynamic styling, as well as body kits, suspensions and other performance features. There are many styling similarities between the Accord, Camry, and the Mazda 6.
