Question first off my car nolonger goes past 80mph and my oil pressure light goes on and off really fast, but only when im on a decelerating or when i drive for awhile. Im thinking faulty pressure switch, does anybody else have an idea on why my car just wont go past 80? it will if i shift into a lower gear but i dont want to fuck up my tranny. "Automatic" please i mean i have the pedal to the floor and it just wont go any faster. please respond

thanks

sounds serious... though it could be as simple as a bad electrical connection.

Did you check you trans oil and your engine oil recently?

Your car isn't overheating is it?

Yah i checked them both and there right where they need to be.. you know when you floor it an extra boost will kick in and it will go higher in the rpm's well it dosent but. i dont know...

no its not overheating says the temp gauge, though i am having alot of electrical probs, they only other thing is the Throttle posiontion sensor is unpluged because it has burn spots in it. "creating my rpms to go up and down in park or neutral, but i dont think that could be it.

Yeah when you floor it it should "DOWNSHIFT" to a lower gear and the RPMs will go up... you may want to adjust the "TV" cable... there is one in the HOW TO section on how to adjust it.

downshifting manually won't hurt the car... it's Neutral dropping and high idle that really stresses the trans.

just don't redline! :burn:

not at the moment... I only had the light come on when my car overheated and when a engine ground wire came loose.
