I've got my stock HU. I've also got a Honda (Alpine M-Bus) 6-disc changer that came out of my 94 Civic after it was totalled.

I looked on the back of the HU, and it looks like there's a DIN plug that may be compatible with the CD changer.

I've not been able to find any information about this (mostly because this forum doesn't let you search for 3-letter words like DIN)

The controls on the HU don't say anything about CD control, but whjy would there be a round DIN plug on the HU if it weren't for some kind of external device.

Can anyone comment? Will my '94 changer work with my 88 HU?

I can always go buy an Alpine HU that does Mbus if I want to use the changer, but why not use the factory equipment if I can?

I am almost 100% sure that it will not work with your radio. Remember that Honda radio tech in the late 80's was not very "advanced"... at least not in our accords. I'm pretty sure that plug is for your antenna...? That's the only stock plug I can think of... other than the wiring plug

you'd best get an adapter for it, or buy an alpine HU
