Not much info to do anything with here. We don't require admin approval to join. They're probably not seeing the activation email. If we had a username, then we can look into it and update the person's account.

Someone or something took care of it, thanks. For future reference, what should we tell members to do because this happens more often than not, and we tell them to sign up for the site as part of joining the group? A lot of people complain that they experience the same issue

If a registered user is caught in a restricted limbo where the site is waiting for them to verify an email address, they can always contact us by using the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page - https://www.3geez.com/forum/sendmessage.php (to prevent spam, only 3geez.com account holders can use this link).

Users are placed in a restricted state when the site requires an email verification, typically when registering or changing an email address or password on file. This email is sent automatically by the site software, the user clicks the verification link, and the process continues on. There is no admin involvement, and like I said, there is no involvement at all from admins in the registration process (unless we're getting hit with a spam wave and we have to restrict membership temporarily - this hasn't happened in quite a while). If a user doesn't see a verification email from the site, it could be caught in a spam folder or because it is an automated email, it could get blocked by some email providers. Not much of a way around that, but again, if a user registers and finds that their permissions are restricted, they can use that contact link.

All we'd need is a username or email address. If someone who has not registered needs to contact the site, then email [email protected]

Is this why we've been getting all these "moderated" threads?
