View Full Version : Is the block in the 3gen the same as the block in a 90?

i just converted my car from carb =\ to Fi =]
anyway i was just wondering because i just bought a used 3gen engine at a junkyard and im goin to strip it down and try to start from just the block all performance, but if its not the same block i cant do it.. so.. is it?

No, a 90 accord has a different engine block.....

90 is 4th gen. Different body style, too. 3 gen was 86-9. Do you know what year you got at the yard??

i know what the third gen and 4th gen are i just wanted to know if it was the same block as the 4th gen.. it's just hard to find performance mods for the third gen.. i see them everywhere for the 90.. i know they have a differnt body style.. i know all of this . i simply wanted to know if they had the same block =]

as you know, the 3g is a A20** or a B20 depnding on how lucky u are. the 4g is a F22 which is of not a great high hp motor compared to our 3g Lx-i's. I am sure u know what kinda engines u can swap into your 3g like a B16 or a B18 or even A h22. I am sure they got preludes bashed up in the junkyard, get one, it worth getting that engine from my point of view
