Cam Weber combo question

So what do you think would be the best cam grind to run with a weber 32/36? The car has a header and free flow exhaust as well as msd ignition controller(not on yet but soon) and coil. the intake manifold will be port matched and mildly polished very soon.The car is a daily driver. Let me hear some suggestions, I was thinking of having it reground at openloop motorsports.

Hey, I'm doing the same thing but I'm have YK86 have it reground for me. I'm having a custom grind to compliment the weber. It's like the wild tri-flo grind without the idle problems. It's going to cost me $205 alone. I'm sure if we get a small group it might be lower than that. I know DXHATCHBACK wants to get one so he can have the same mods as I do b/c we're going to race at the Ontario meet this summer. (unconfirmed race :D) I'm going to get a MSD system soon. I'm waiting until PhydeauX makes that custom manifold for the weber. I wont port and polish until I buy one from him.

I don't suggest the wild grind for a daily driver... get a mild tri-flow.

were you the one who made that lip out of plastic garden stuff?
Surprisingly I saw a brand new SUV with a 3" - 4" wide plastitc garden things sort of rivited to the side of his suv and along the rear... it looked totally off on a brand new SUV it even had embossed letters of the company that made the siding.

The inbetween the mild and wild is the custom tri-flo regrind for the weber. It's for the daily driver and part-time racer :)

Tri-flow is the way to go, or so it seems. So what is wrong with the idle, someone mentioned something. If the idle is loped that doesn't bother me. But I'm curious to find out how Mike's cam comes out. Do you guys think we'll have to re-jet the carb for optimum performance?
Yes, that is the infamous lawn and garden front lip.

I would count on re jetting the carb when you put a cam in. Have you rejetted the weber before? If so then you know it's fairly easy to do. I just had some financial crap happen to me so I can't buy it from YK86, which sucks b/c I had everything set up and then I had to fork over the money I had set aside for the cam. I feel really bad b/c I can't afford the cam from him now. I heard www.deltacam.com does cams for us too. I only have $120 left so I might just have them grind it for me. I think the total came to $65 for the grind $30 for core (which I'll get back when I send my old cam to them) $10 shipping. I don't know if it's going to be the same quality, but it's all I could afford. I got the 272 grind from delta. It's only if you have headers and full exhaust and an upgraded carb. I asked the guy if it would f*ck my idle and he said it wouldn't he told me that if I got the grind that was for competition it would. I got the super street grind I guess. The one right before competition. I think they had 5 different grind for our cars.

Did you call delta up? I have an extra cam ready to go and I'm half done polishing my intake manifold. I've never re-jetted the carb. I'm not even sure where to get parts for it. I think I'll call delta tomarrow and see what they say. Talk to you later. Darkside

You can seach jet sizes to find out which ones would be good for your car. A20A1 made a thread for just jet sizes.
I bought the cam b/c it was all I could afford. I was suprised that it was that cheap. I'm kinda glad I searched around before I bought one b/c I saw how they're made and what is done to them to make sure they're quality.
