Hey

I got home today (60deg) and I always noticed my 'cord runs hot.. well today after I shut the car off I hear the fans kick on, still

She runs REALLY hot, like near the red zone even when its cold out

Best guesses? Im prolly going to purchase a new thermostat soon

It should never run that hot.
-Check fluid
-Check thermostat
-Make sure you have antifreez/coolant
-Water pump might be taking a shit
-Radiator clogged
-Your fans turn on, so they seem to be doing their job

Not sure if any of those work with 87-89..

My best guess would say it'd work with an 87 for shizzle :)

Better get that fixed soon and don't keep driving it that way, or you'll be shaking hands with Mr. Headgasket (and he's not a friendly guy, trust me). Most likely it is just a stuck thermostat. Mine had that happen a couple years ago too... nothing uncommon

yeah dont let that engine run way hot like that, like jared says you might bring problems if you do
