Performance or Passenger? :sadwave: Does it matter? I'm looking to get some 17" Motegi MR7 or the MR8's. What would you guys recommend? I talked to chubs he said that Toyo and Nitto but wtf do I know? I'm looking for cheap yet good quality tires. Something under $175 or $200. The rims are about $110 and I don't wanna go haywire and spend an assload cuz, well, I have nothing atm. Anyway thanks for the info ahead of time! :):flash:

for 175-200 you can get top of the line rubber... you can get a set of 17 inch tires for like 300 bucks that will be alright

these are very very very nice tires

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Parada+Spec-2&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=04WR7PARADAS2&fromCompare1=yes

these are your budget tires... still OK tho

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=ECSTA+711&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=04HR7E711&fromCompare1=yes

these are for all out racing... not much tread life, but very sticky

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Hoosier&tireModel=R3S03&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=04ZR7R3S03HC&fromCompare1=yes

these are the COOL tires... they are available in red, yellow or blue... i have the black set, so they are as cool, but they are a very nice tire anyway

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=Scorcher+T%2FA+Red&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=04ZR7SCORTAR&fromCompare1=yes

if you have any other questions, PM me or hit me up on AIM... there are many more tires available in different price brackets

Dude,

I just got Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's Z rated and only paid $90 each mounted and balanced. I figure this is the part of the car that wears out the fastest next to getting oil changes so why pay big bucks for rubber that you'll end up leaving on the road over time..

Just my 2 cents.

I've had first hand experience with the parada's, their grip levels are inferior. Kumho 712's would be a better choice.

these ones? http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=ECSTA+Supra+712 those are pretty sweet. and they are better than the yokohamas? So I take it then that the survey results are pretty much inaccurate?

I've had the Kuhmo 712's for a few weeks now and they hold the road well.. Almost to well cause now it's hard to break the tires loose on dry pavement, but it can still be done (evil grin)
I say give 'em a try...

I know that these are prolly not the best known brand, but i'm runnin some Federal's from les shwuab and they work really well. the tread patterm resebles Kuhmo ECSTA supra 712 tires, only maybe alittle more agressive. they handle great in the rain as well

brad you are one bad, mutha.. shut yo' mouf.

i have michelin's :) they're NIIICE.

on a much serious note, i received my wheels in the mail (dropped by plane to my door) and they have AWESOME 205 sumitomo's on them. i think the next tires I would get (hey, i'm on a budget too) would either be nitto's, pirelli's or YOKOHAMA! SHAMO!

the tires that i would suggest are the Yokohama Avs Es100's...they look friggen cool, and all ive heard they handle with the best of em, better than the parada spec 2's, better than the ecsta supras..i plan on getting them for my 16s in a month or so, i have a friend who just purchased 17" Avs's for around $100..
