dude. what size rims are those? would you ming measuring them for me? it would be greatly appreciated. i got a little carried away lowering my car so now i need to know the biggest rim and tire package that i can go. i have a set of 16's with some decent meat on them. perfect for traction but the side wall is a little too much. i think they will suit my 5th gen as winter rims much better.

How did you do that? Isnt the lens molded to the housing? How did you get it back together? I want to clear out the corners and bumper lenses on my bonnie. tell me how you did that please!

why are you going to pimp the bonneville? it's like a grandma car

MrBen
03-23-2003, 05:55 PM
So's our Accord meohmy. You've always got something to say dont you?

Ryan, check the How To for how to do that. It's pretty simple! http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=104

YK86 also has some info on his site. http://www.b20accord.com/clear.html

actually it was a joke. and yes i do always have something to say. that's just the way i am. i don't believe it's a difficult concept to grasp. and i don't like to think of my accord as a grandma car. i doubt any grandmas around will be sporting an h22a1.

MrBen

they are 17incherz with NITTO tires in the front and TOYO'z in the back...... I beleive the tire size is 205/40 someone told me they were the biggest u can get without rubbin..........my rear rubs just a tiny bit if I got a full car with alot of fat peepz in it and hit a bump.......hehe

You'll improve thier appearance a whole lot of you create some bushings to bring the lenes out to be more flush. The original lenes are dome shaped. When you do the flat clears like that, they naturally sink into the bumper. I created bushings for my front clears by stacking a bunch of rubber washers that I cut to fit and then glued together with silicon glue. 7 of the washers per side will give you about a 1/2 inch.

Btw, no one has a how to for creating front bumper clears for the 86-87 cars and all years of hatches. YK86's site tells you how to create rear tail light clears.

I had a web site with a how to, but it's not longer up.

Nice. The lense sure go with the color of your car. I like it.

Rims are 38mm offset aren't they. 40mm offset ones and 205/40-17 should never rub, even if your sitting on the bump stops :D

My site does mention the front clears in the same how-to as the rears. I just never put it in the title. I used two sets of the original rubber gaskets to keep the moisture out.

I was just going to write a reponse to him about that YK86.

As for the previous sites I posted, it was just a ballpark idea as to how they are done. I was aware they werent for 86 87 but Ryan's accord was an 88.

Anyway, I think I might tackle making those tomorrow. Depends how I feel.

accords in the US never came with h22's in them.....the engines were 2.2's, but they were the f series....swapin in a h22 is easy cause they make mounts, and if he has an h22 thats what he did, but stock nope.....the clear bumpers on the other hand look great, nice job!

I know it mentions them, but your site does not say anything on how to make them. So anyone labeling your site as a how to for front bumber clears, is incorrect.

"If you are afraid to try, try making a set of clear front bumper lens since that takes only half an hour and is really easy since there is no bending involved."

No offense, but anyone with half a brain could figure out how to make them. Making the bumper signals clear uses the same technique as making the tail lights. If it wasnt, why would he have said it in the first place?

...well, since we're all in the mood for showing off a little....

heheheheeh
here's mine, they are not home-made, they're actual production lenses/housings that i modified a little to fit where the old stock 3G ones went.

sorry for the shitty pic, but they fit like a friggin glove.

Good 'ol Infiniti M30, somewhere in the years of 90-91. I yanked the whole entire lens/housing/wiring. I just reached as far into the whole as I could after removing the lens and housing, and snipped the wiring so I could get both ends of the plug.

...cost me 20 bux at the j/y.

Good luck finding that car at a j/y though, they only made like 10 in the US. (*sarcasm* but they really are not easy to find, and infiniti doesn't even carry the housings anymore.)

This was the one the first mods I did on my car. when you are sitting at school or work, look up at the lights. the covers on the lights is what you use. just trace, cut, and sand. Instant clears, (have to buy amber bulbs.):pimp: :pimp:
