Best Drop for 17s

What is the best looking drop to get with 17 in. rims? Post pictures if you got them. Thanks.

Go with a 1.75" drop or a 2" drop. That's your best bet. It will sit perfect with 17's.

Your F'n nuts to do 3". Don't EVER do that if you want to be able to drive your car around. You don't have to get new shocks or struts. I never did, I was going to but haven't yet. I have been lowered for 5 years now, and my Accord rides fine with out new shocks or struts. I just have the 2.25" drop.

Best weight is the one where you go as low as you can afford. You should be able to keep the wieght to NO MORE than the stock wheel weight without killing your wallet, 18lbs. Correct tire size for 17" is 205/40-17, making sure you do NOT get rims with less than 40mm offset. Up to 45mm offset is just fine btw.

Well if you care and value a ride with no funny business, definately get Koni's. But be carefull, go to stiff with some coilovers and even the Koni's won't be stiff enough.
A good combo would be suspension techniques speed tech 2" drop springs from www.nopionline.com for $97 and then the Koni's from www.shox.com for $424 w/free shipping.

I still have to fix the front of my car since the back dropped down a bit from all the stuff in the trunk. I used the 1.5 H&R Springs before which i love but i have at least another inche to fill the gap in the front so im shooting for a 2.25-2.5 but im really picky on spring quality.

If your really into racing then get lighter wheels. But our cars aren't fast anyway. SO just get some that look good.

Being that our cars have to little horsepower, you can feel the difference when you go heavier than the stock wheels. Keep in mind that it's not NOT just wheel weight, tires weigh to. As you go up to wider larger tires, they to get heavier. But you can't really control that weight gain from the lager tires, unless you try and track tire weights to (really big pain in the A** to do). But you can limit the weight you add via the rims. I wouldn't worry about a couple lbs over stock rims weights, especially if it makes the differance between rims you like and rims you love. Also when you have heavier rims, it becomes a issue for ride quality and how the car feels. A heavier wheel/rim combo will tend to colide over bumps more, rather than absorbing them and the car will feel less willing to change direction.

Ok, the whole issue is this, lighter wheels benefit you a number of ways. Hey, it took me 8 hours of searching on the net to come up with the rims I think I'm going to get for my new car. But not many people want to be bothered with searching hard, cause you gotta do more reasearch and usually spend more money. Though I see some awfully expensive HEAVY wheel on our cars to, (hmmmm on the more money part).

BTW, www.whalentire.com list's the weight of any rims that are ligher in weight and they have good prices. Remember, NEVER less than 40mm offset and up to 45mm is fine, bolt pattern is 4x100mm.
