it's the one on the dash. even though the switch under the ebrake handle thing is so simple there is nothing that could possibly go wrong with it. any ideas?

Do you mean the (!)(P) or the one in the fuel/temp gauge.
Maybe it's the sensor in the brake fluid (the 3gee has a sensor there don't it).
But first check you'r brakelights, it could be that one of them is broke

Check your brake fluid. It comes on when it's low.

If it wasnt the brake fluid, your brake needed to be adjusted. Always start from the simple things and work your way to the harder things.

When I got my car the brake light wouldnt go off. I just ripped that mofo brake handle up and let the car skid a few times and the problem was gone. Of course, I never thought I was going to buy the damn thing.
