From past experiences you could either scrape the paint off very carefully with a razor if most all of it is cracked, or you can also just touch it up with spray can paint or touch up. I know someone who scraped the paint off on a prelude, and someone else who painted it with touch up on a prelude, and they both looked fine.

It can be painted but it will not necesarrily stick for a long time. I wouldnt paint it unless it is not peeled too much.

my brother took the window trim off of his capri(smae material as the accord) and painted it black. It looks pretty good. He just used spray paint too.

So after you kids skraped the black shit off of the chrome trim, did you re-paint or anything?
I wouldn't mind skraping it off, and leaving it...I just wondered if it was prone to rust or anything like that.

i personnaly don't like silver trim but yeah it wont rust. I would repaint them though because it looks better that way.
Mine is the same, I'm just gonna order all new rear trim from the Honda dealer, Its spendy but it will look brand new, so thats a plus.

paint wont stick unless you sand, primer it well beforehand.
If you want, you can use a good quality black vynil tape over the exposed crome trim until you have enough money to buy new ones. It works trust me.
