Well..If u do ur research.. u can find alot of good h/u for 200....
Skipping is always gonna depend on road conditions...U can buy the best so called brand, but if the road surfaces are bad, it's gonna skip.. Even think about just adding a cd changer instead?

if your deck controls a changer get that, I have a $300 Mobile ES deck that skips (I don't get it, they put all the $ into stupid functions like DSO) but the 10 disk in the trunk won't skip unless it keels over!

really...hmm maybe i will look into a changer, my Explod was a top of the line one back in the day so it has changer control capabilities, detacable face, pre outs, and 50wx4 output, its a decent deck, but i really want CD capabilities in some form or another

Dont get the changer....if you do though.....go to circuit city now....they are on sale for 123.99......go get it....if you get a new cd in dash.......get a pioneer....they just sound better

CHANGER because for the price of the changer you're going to get a CRAPPY in dash that only takes 1 CD whereas if you go the changer route you get 10 cd's and youa lso get to keep your good radio and play your cassettes

Well I think he has 200 to spend....so if thats the case it comes down to the ability to have alot of cds to play on demand or the ability to swap cd at will.......i dont know what u are talking about sayingthat u cant get a good in dash for 200.......a pioneer 4400, is a great head unit for the money.....good on board power lots of cool shit to make your music sound better, i think it is even XM radio ready.....so for my 200 i would get an indash.....again that is just my opinion.....so all of you guys who disagree, thats fine, but you need to give your reasons.....lets help this guy out.....for me its the indash all the way, you can still and your changer for your fav cds later........:super:

Well with 200 bucks u can do a few things...

1: You can buy a h/u & start all over with your system..
2: You can upgrade your system, by either adding a changer or amp etc..
if ur h/u kicks out good sound why buy another? If it's cd's you want changer is the way yo go...I upgraded from a tape h/u to a cd h/u for the same reason..I wanted to play cd's..Now I have ( Gay ) cd purse and tons of cd's in my car..SUKS..pretty soon I will add my changer..
Just remember money is valueble, if u can improve what u have now do it....L8taz!

Well thanks guys for all your advice, it helped alot

i decided to go for an indash cd unit just cause it was too expensive for a changer that would work with my 2yr old deck

i ended up getting a

Kenwood KDC-217s

Detachable face
preouts
45wx4
white LED backlit display
and 3band EQ
all for $220CAN,

lol the installation guy tryed for like 20min to get me to pay $50can to install it and i finally said no, i took it home and did it myself in 20min, lol silly wabbit!

anyway thanks guys,

oh P.S. how much current runs through a AA battery? heh heh i used a dead AA and listened to the static to isolate my speakers, just cause my wiring was a mess, lol just hope i didn't hurt them any
