ok... my mom's 626 is in serious need of speakers... the sizes are 6x8 in the front doors and 6x9 in the rear deck... i will spend about $100 per pair ($200 for both pair) and i need something with high sensitivity, a broad frequency range, and a seriously good value..

hit me with you reccomendations and all... i'm open to anything

6x8? i've never heard of that size. 5x7's maybe?

no, 6x8... trust me... they aren't used in too many vehicles, mostly fords, mazdas, volvos, and a couple GM vehicles

it is a nice deal they have going right now.

6x9 speakers. well there are too many to list. you can look here http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-KI0aftCEhRE/ProdGroup.asp?c=10&g=52300&s=0&cc=01&avf=N
again alpine, pioneer, kenwood, blaupunkt, polk, and infinity dominate the sensitivity level.
PM me if you want talk more.

thanks

any more?

i'll probably end up with infinities or JBLs... like i said, not a top dollar system, just a stock replacement system for mom's car... if i were a system in my car, it would be all infinity kappa perfect 6.5 components

from crutchfield you can get adapter plates so that you can turn a 6X8 opening into a 6 1/2 which gives you more choices for better speakers. wait, you can't make a 6 inch opening 6 1/2". my bad, nevermind.

i think i'm gonna end up ordering from www.justcarspeakers.com ...

i'll probably end up with the infinities and go over budget (kappas)...

i also need to upgrade the deck, so that'll probably come with the speakers... i'm lookin at the blaupunkt san hose MP3 player
