I had them in my CRX, and then my Legend. But I have 12's in my Accord.

They were VERY loud in the CRX lol.

POS, I'm planning on buying one 15-inch "super-sub" later this year, and then possibly going into competition... if it happens, I'll let you see, but I don't think that 15's are really "crazy."

You start tossing 18's or multiple 15's, and I think you've got crazy right there ;)

i think 15s are just a waste of space. you could easily find 12s that would outperform them and sound better.

i have 2 15 inch Farenheits now.... the CK series look them up "farenheit CK-15"

Jigga i kinda have the same problem with my 12s, im always havin stuff break back there, like the speaker mounts inthe back deck, and the 3rd brake light. I still havent fixed the brake light... its just a hole again. I cant figure out how to get the back deck to stop moving, ive tried alot of stuff but it shakes like half an inch with the seats DOWN... noisy too

15's + 3g = siezure

for a 3 g, 12's is about the max, anything over is retarded...i have 12's in my 3500 lbs. buick and they make it rumble, 12's are more than enough

I have to polk 15's laying on my floor needing use. One is going in my brothers 90 Accord and the other I want to mount it where the spare tire is so that it sits flush with everything.

Actually, POS, I just ordered a 15" super-sub... 29 mm Xmax, 1000+ RMS power handling, I hope to make my roof flex a good 4 inches, hopefully.

I'll be sure to post pics of my install when it ships in a month (I got it pre-order), I hope to do something special with the install... I've got tons of free half inch plexi to work with, and I might fiberglass something.

what kind of subs?

Justin86
05-02-2003, 07:19 PM
I have a Polk 15" sub. I made a custom set up to put the sub where my spare tire was. I just need to get a amp right now. Does anybody know where I can get a mono amp for a decent price. I'm looking for around 300 RMS. It is an older sub so I don't think it can handle 500W so 300W should keep it one piece and still thump.

i have an autotek 750.1 on my 2 15's. it pushes close to 900 watts at 1 ohm.
gives me the thump I need

which would be louder in bass 2 10' 350w pioneers or 1 15' 800w legacy series 2

it all depends in the box that u get. i've heard a 10" in an enclosed box sound better than most 2 12"s in an open box.

Grant2k

your amp also has an effect on sound quality and volume.

accord86
05-05-2003, 12:47 PM
in a closed box would a 15 sound better than 2 10's

87DXHatch
05-05-2003, 02:00 PM
accord86, there are so many factors that go into whether one set-up will sound "better" than another, answering your question is absolutely pointless, because you CAN'T answer the question without about a million details that you didn't give.

1 Rockford Punch Z 15 in a "closed" box will probably not sound better than 2 10's, and the 2 10's have the same surface area as the 1 15, essentially.

Grant2k
05-05-2003, 02:09 PM
what do you mean by a "closed box?" some people would call and bandpass box closed, or a regular enclosure without ports.

I'm pretty sure he means sealed, but I could be wrong...

i have two 15s, i built two sealed boxes for them and they dont sound nearly as good as they did when i had them in ported boxes.

i have a 15in Q-power deluxe (1200w) in a vented box running off of a 1600w legacy amp. it bumps pretty dang good but not enough as what i used to have,..three 12's at 700w each in a 3-way sealed box. but i love bass and i'll never have enough of it...i tried putting two 15's in a dual vented box in my trunk but things didn't work out so i had to take the spare out in order to fit the single box in there. i plan on getting two 12in fosgate he edition subs in a dual vented box. i think that will bump pretty good. oh and by the way....my stuff is always for sale. i also have a Q-logic 750w rms/1500w max 12in sub for sale for $60

yea after doing the figures for my subs it turns out they are for sealed so I was thinking making 2 boxes, one in each corner where the tail lights are at with the space behind the wheel well.

Only thing is that the box programs I was using to calculate box size were for home and were giving me like 100 cubic foot boxes

i was thinking of somethign like that because i hate having my trunk taken up by my box. right now i just took the whole box out and i'm debating whether i'm going to put it back in at all.

when I had 2 15" rockfords in my accord, they bumped so hard they broke the taillights. the plastic part the you can see on the trunk lid from inside. I just opened my trunk at autozone one day and they were dangling in front of my face.

yup that sounds like rockfords to me.. 15" of taillight-shattering QUALITY :D

Right on Toaty Ghost gotta love Rockford Fosgate, they do it right most of the time,

hey guys how about 6 yes 6, 10" inch Rockford POWER HX2s each one in its own ported enclosure that makes up about 7 and 1/2 cubic ft (It was all one walled off box with six seperate chambers, the damn box and amps took up my trunk and back seats old resting place), each one was powered by a Rockford DB 1000.1 mono 1000rms watt amp (and they all birthed at over 1300 watts rms), so thats like 7800 watts rms people, all were wired in series and the box fit in my Eagle Summit but it needs redesigned and rebuilt for the Celica. Damn I wish i had that car to put my system in right now.......................... but at least in my apartment its not getting abused by me, hehe.
