id like to do an engine swap to my 89 accord{carbureted}, but i dont know what engine. i wanted to use a b16, but i heard they where better for crx's on account of the crx being so light. but what could i use?

a b16 is the most economical swap for our cars, i am in the process of trying to do this myself...by the way, our cars are relatively light (2400lbs), so just do a few upgrades on the b16 and it will perform awesome

someone told me that the accord was very heavy and that a b16 swap would change nothing.

it will change things but due to the lower torque on the B16 engine, you may want to look at something like a b20b/z for it. You'll get higher torque and hp and the swap isn't a whole ton more. You can use any b18 aftermarket parts on it just fine. IT's the same engine just factory resleeved basically. our accords are light, but compared to a crx they aren't. that is what you'd be looking at for a b16. Later. lockleaf
