That's what a friends 88 LX does. It has only done it going down the freeway so far, and it's done it a few times. You'll be going along down the road and all the sudden it does that. It doesn't go away either. Mechanic put it on the computer and found it runs fine. Both fuel filters replaced. Seems to be intermittent... so what is up?

on the computer with a LX... gawd thats silly hows it supposed to know whats causing the trouble... the best it could do is say vacuum leak here or faulty solenoid there... and I doubt it even does that.

anyways you may was to try and jiggle the booster venturi to see if it's loose. run a search in carb tech for booster venturi

No vacuum leaks- it was scoped.

If it is the loose venturi, how costly is that? If it isn't, give me a list of possibilities if you can. Thanks a lot

you just tighten the screw... if it fell out like it did to this one guy over here then you'd have to hit the junk yard to get a replacement.

BTW did you ever fix that burning oil problem in the other thread?

would that have any effect on idle?
